Kalibo, Aklan- Except for the budgetary appropriations of the Aklan Environment and Natural Resources Office (AKENRO), the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Aklan has completed the review of budget proposals of all provincial government departments under the General Fund as of Thursday, November, 18, 2010.
Total budgetary appropriations for the 2011 General Fund Budget proposed by Governor Carlito S. Marquez is P587,989,907.00, out of the total P976,436,012.00 to include that of the Economic Enterprise Development Department’s proposed 2011 budget of P388,446,105.00
Budget proposals already reviewed by the body with the Committee on Appropriations, Budget and Finance and Ways and Means as lead reviewing committee, chaired by SP Member Selwyn C. Ibarreta with SP Members Rodson F. Mayor and Phoebe Clarice L. Cabagnot as members, are those of the Provincial Governor’s Office (PGO), Provincial Human Resource Management Office (PHRMO), Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO), Provincial Budget Office (PBO), Provincial Treasurer’s Office (PTO), Provincial Assessor’s Office (PASSO), Provincial Agriculturist’s Office (PAO), Provincial Accounting Office (PACCO), Provincial General Services Office (PGSO), Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), Provincial Engineering Office (PEO), Provincial Legal Office, Office of the Provincial Veterinarian (OPVET), Provincial Cooperative Office (PCO), Provincial Population Office (PPO), Aklan Provincial Tourism Office (APTO), Provincial Health Office (PHO), Ciriaco S. Tirol Memorial Hospital in Boracay, the municipal hospitals in Buruanga, Libacao and Malay, the Don. Leovigildo N. Diapo Memorial Hospital in Madalag.
Also, already reviewed by the SP are budgetary appropriations funded under the 20% IRA Development Fund which totals to P103,399,963.20, more than half of which, or P75,221,867.69 is earmarked for repayment of interests and principal of the total outstanding loans/debts of the provincial government which stands at about half a billion pesos as of October 2010.
Budget hearings will resume on December 2, 2010 to deliberate on the proposed budgets of the different EEDD units of the provincial government to include that of the AKENRO and that of the SP.
