Confab of LVGP in Boracay Successful

Kalibo, Aklan- Organizers of the February 16-19, 2011 League of Vice Governors of the Philippines 46th National assembly at the Boracay Regency, Boracay, Malay, Aklan has rated the event to be fairly successful.

The assembly was able to gather the majority of the vice governors of the 79 provinces all over the Philippines. Many of the vice governors had also caused the participation of their staff in their respective secretariat.

Some of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan members namely Honorable Edina T. Gelito, Hon. Bob Augusto Legaspi, Hon. Jose Enrique M. Miraflores and Hon. Nemesio P. Neron together with Vice Governor Gabrielle V. Calizo-Quimpo welcome the delegates with a welcome dinner at the Regency Hotel Beachfront.
The delegates were feted to a Shangrila tour on the 3rd day of the assembly.
The national assembly also featured the continuation of the 3rd module of a Diploma Course in Development Legislation and Governance which is being packaged by the Development Academy of the Philippines for the League members and officers.
The third module in Boracay Regency, Boracay, Malay, Aklan focused on the topics:
1. Governance and Development Perspectives to Local Development Planning by SVP Magdalena L. Mendoza, DAP
2. Overview of the Local Planning System in the Philippines by Julie Catherine D. Paran, DAP
3. The Local Development Process by Julie Catherine D. Paran, DAP

Meanwhile, the National Executive Vice President of the League of the Vice Governors of the Philippines, Vice Governor Victorio R. Suaybaguio, JR., MPA, Vice Governor of Davao Del Norte, extend, his heartwarming congratulation to Vice Governor Quimpo for a job-well-done as a host province of the said assembly.

“Vice Governor Quimpo did an enormous work as League treasurer in supervising the financial resources of the LVGP that eventually made this event a profitable and rewarding event”, Suaybaguio stressed.

Suaybaguio also stressed that the warm welcome of Quimpo’s constituents and a systematized program-activities being organized are something worthy to be treasured throughout the years.
